Kicking off with a fully managed service for FIFA

The IT solution that world football body FIFA will be using for the World Cup next June has been designed and built by none other than Cybernest. This fully managed solution has already proved its value, having provided flawless hosting services for FIFA throughout the 2009 Confederations Cup.

It was used by hundreds of journalists to update stories and electronically store and send photographs, as well as to accredit players via secure internet connectivity, among other things.

The service to FIFA is a good example of the advantages of combining telco and IT expertise. It comprises a fully managed server and security solution for FIFA's hosting requirements, integrated with a Telkom VPN that provides access to all the different locations.

The hosting solution was built according to the requirements of MATCH, which is FIFA's IT group. It included the build, support, backups, firewall management, monitoring, internet proxy and caching, and network load balancing. Delivered in Cybernest's data centres, it meets MATCH's stringent availability SLAs for 2010 FIFA World Cup IT services.
