Cybernest was launched on 19 November 2009 and will be rendering data centre services. Cybernest has six fully fledged data centers in South Africa and well over 600 specialised data centre staff. These data centres are already managing about R2.5 billion worth of IT assets, including:

• 4 000 servers
• 1 465 operating systems
• 1 465 databases
• 32 000 e-mail boxes

The data centre offering consists of three main services:

• Basic hosting: Basic hosting customers receive server rack and floor space, as well as cooling, power and backup power."
• Managed and fully managed hosting: Customers receive all these basics and, on top, have their computers monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Disaster recovery: Customers can instead of building their own second enterprise data centre, customers use a Cybernest data centre. The cost savings are dramatic and the risks miniscule.

The two newest data centres - at Hartebeesthoek in Gauteng and Bellville 2 in the Cape - have only recently been completed. The centres are brand new, state-of-the-art and custom built to provide ultra-quick service to enterprise customers. Bellville 2 is capacity wise on a par with the top 10% of the world's data centres. It was built for performance and with overall availability of 99.998%, this data centre is among the most energy efficient facilities of its kind.
